Imperfectly Perfect Love Stories

A girl and a boy meet, they fall in love and eventually lead a ‘happily ever after’ life. That’s how most of the
romantic stories (and almost every Bollywood flick) shows us. But thanks to some sensible writers and
storytellers, who know that reality is far far away from such fairy tales, we do come across some weird love stories that make us singles feel a little more hopeful about changing out status :P
for me, these stories make me stop for a second and compel me to think that non romantics like me too can have a chance ;)
Here is my list of the most hopeful love stories so far:

1) Sheldon Cooper-Amy Farrah Fowler, The Big Bang Theory (American sitcom)

He doesn't call her his ‘girlfriend’ yet is equally jealous when he senses his friend trying to date her. Dude, if a geek like Sheldon can have a female counterpart, so can anyone else on the face of this earth! And if nerdy Amy can survive to have a bestie like Penny by her side, girls, we can have any bloody thing we could wish for! Thank you Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady (the creators) for these characters, they are the reason I’m actually writing this all now! ;)

2) Bella Swan-Edward Cullen, The Twilight Saga (American novel and movie)

I am a self confessed Twihard, and I was totally head-over-heels for Edward character and Jacob’s personality a few years back. A few days back a friend of mine asked what was so special about this story and I didn't know what to state first. For starters, Bella, who is utterly, totally clumsy (so am i), a complete mess and totally devoid of expressions, is one character I could find dwelling in almost every corner of the world. And if a female like her could find a stunner like Edward (not referring to his skin tone!),boy, so can any other sane person!  I don’t know about others but I did start thinking about my surprise package waiting for me out in the dark (that’s the effect of twilight and VD you know!). I know there are zillions of people who found this whole Saga ridiculous, and even I do at times, but the way Stephanie Meyer (the author) got these two characters together right from the meadows to the aisle, gets me to like this story no matter what.

3) Roy Miller and June Havens, Knight and Day (American movie)

Now I don’t know how many of you have watched this movie but I can tell you this, I simply loved watching this flick! A sexy, secret agent is great, but Tom Cruise as that secret agent makes its Irresistible! But talking about the love story here…there is no clichéd oh-i-love-you-so-much lines, but then simple dialogues like ‘I am happy to see you or ‘with me, without me’ (and the hand gesture), makes it one of my favorite movies to watch. And the combination is imperfectly perfect…she is utterly impulsive and freaks out every now and then and he is totally calm and charming even while killing people! *sigh*!

4) Richard Castle and Detective Kate Beckett, Castle (American TV series)

Yes I love this pair! For the obvious reasons! There is no ‘I love you’ and no verbal commitment but still they know that the other person is going to be there through thick and thin. The charge that is oh-so visible between them and is yet completely denied is totally worth the watch! I bet that has happened with many of us at some point or the other! ;)

5) Howard Wolowitz and Bernadette Rostenkowski, The Big Bang Theory (American sitcom)

All perverts out there, here is a role model for you! I don’t personally like Howard’s character; his comments around women are equally irritating yet somehow funny. But even he could find a sweet (or is she?) girlfriend (now fiancée) like Bernadette…that too by luck! Weird I know, but equally strong, isn’t it?

There are many more such stories that I have to still read or see or hear but for now, these 5 top the charts! I guess, someday, IF I ever have a story of my own, I might want to have it a little bit like all of these, well at least like the first 4! :P
